The most dangerous thing a society can do is forget its history. This opens the door to others repeating the most dangerous mistakes we have made in the past.
In the 20th century Adolph Hitler came to power in Germany. 50 million lives later he came to a violent end. One of the first things he did when he gained power was to set up a firearms registration. In due time the Nazis confiscated all firearms from the hands of private citizens. This facilitated their totalitarian evolution.
He also set up through Joseph Goebbels a Ministry of Propaganda. This enabled the brainwashing of a whole society. Schools became indoctrination centres for government propaganda. It appears we have forgotten about these assaults on human freedom and dignity.
Up here in Canada we recently narrowly averted a confiscation of our hunting weapons. We also have the main news source here subsidized to the tune of 1 billion dollars a year. Now before our Senate is a bill that will promote government censorship of our communications.. The question here is, how can so many people not see how potentially dangerous this is to the citizenry? Now those of us who understand history are living in fear of the next step. To those of you in the U.S.A. wake up before it is too late. Once your rights are gone it is a long and dangerous journey back to freedom.
If we continue down this road how many millions or even billions of lives will be lost before we regain our equilibrium? I believe it is long past time to stand up for freedom.
Peter asks:
" . . . how can so many people not see how potentially dangerous this is to the citizenry?"
My answer:
The brainwashing has been in full swing ever since America imported secretly & illegally via "Operation Paperclip" thousands of criminal NAZI's from Germany - and MK-ULTRA was a first product of this CIA-NAZI-Cooperation - and the CIA has since then worked with NAZI's as in Ukraine and with Terrorists as ISIS, which Trump stopped on his first day in office.
